My Belief in Inclusive Education
I have been a passionate bridge-builder for inclusive practices across Pre-K through post-secondary education. I believe schools thrive when they embrace compassion, curiosity, creativity, and collaboration. To empower the future, three goals must guide our work:
- Every child deserves a high-quality education that celebrates diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Every parent/guardian/caregiver should feel welcomed and encouraged to engage in their child’s learning and school community.
- Every educator and leader deserves the preparation and support they need for professional growth and success.
A Parent’s Perspective
In 2023, I shifted from a full-time educational leader to a consultant and parent navigating school and healthcare systems with my elementary-age children. One of our daughters was diagnosed with PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal infections), a condition that can affect behavior, emotional regulation, and learning. This experience gave me invaluable insight into the barriers families face and strengthened my resolve to build bridges between schools and families so that all children are supported with compassion, collaboration, and creativity.
